Make Others of Your Kind

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

Matthew 28:19 (NLT)

At creation, God declared His intention to make humanity in His own image and likeness. That image was distorted through humanity's fall into sin, yet it has been fully redeemed through the death of Christ. Every believer born again through faith takes on this restored image once more, becoming a living reflection of God's character in the world. But God's design does not end with personal transformation. He calls every believer to participate in reproducing this same image in others, first through evangelism, sowing the seed of the Gospel so that new believers are born of the Spirit and the Word, taking on that same divine likeness.

This mission of reproduction extends beyond initial conversion into the very roles believers occupy within the church. Every Christian carries a responsibility to mentor at least one other person capable of stepping into their role. An evangelist should raise up another evangelist before their work is finished. A deacon should develop someone with the character worthy of that same service. As ambassadors of Christ, representing His interests on earth, this pattern of reproduction must continue without interruption, multiplying God's kind until the earth is filled with those who bear His image. This is not optional; without reproduction, any race eventually dies out. Consider today who you might be raising up to carry forward the role God has given you, ensuring that His work continues faithfully long after your own season of service has ended.

Closing Prayer

Lord, help me to see discipleship not only as sharing the Gospel but as reproducing Your image and character in others. Show me who I should be mentoring in my role within Your church, and give me the faithfulness to raise up someone to carry that work forward. Amen.
