"Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly father will also forgive you.

Our God is a loving, merciful and faithful father. It is true that in our unfaithfulness, He remains faithful. The truth is that he shows forth his mercies on all mankind by showering rain on both the wicked and the good.
It is also true that when one follows the laws of nature, one is blessed with material blessings. That is to say, if you are not a Child of God, you will still be blessed materially for the good deeds done to others. However, the true spiritual blessing that the soul requires to live at peace with all men will be MISSING in your life.
The Bible makes us understand that we will reap whatever we sow. It is to this that, God our Father takes delight in giving us true spiritual Blessings from heaven.(Ephesians 1: 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING in the heavenly places in CHRIST.)
God never takes it lightly when it comes to the issue of FORGIVENESS. He desires that we attain the perfect spiritual gift which is the ability to FORGIVE OUR SELF AND OTHERS. In order to make us more serious about this gift, He gives us a condition.
God will only forgive us if we also forgive others. He knows that as humans we always want the easy way out. But God desires that we aim for perfection. He wants us to show forth His Love to others. This we can only be done by FORGIVING others their offenses against us. This is a sure way to make God give us His blessings (forgiveness of our transgressions).
But if we don’t forgive others, then lets us not expect any blessing of Forgiveness from God. Remember the gift of Forgiveness (i.e. the ability to forgive) is a BLESSING FROM GOD; only a few find that secret. Have you?
