Whom do we listen to and trust? This is a million dollar question with thousands of answers. Our individual and collective answers matters a lot in our control of anger. We are beings that seek indirectly the admiration of a much greater Power
As Christians, our highest authority is God. It is sad to know however that, most of us do not truly understand this authority in our lives. We take it for granted. In our desperation we begin to trust in the confidence of the FLESH: OUR STRENGTH AND THAT OF FRIENDS/RELATIONS.
Most of us think that letting out our painful feelings and lashing it out on others is the best ways to appease ourselves. Do we listen to the still small VOICE that tells us to stop and think about what we are about to say or do when we are angry? Do we try to forgive those who offend us? Some people hurt us and refuse to take the blame but do you go to them despite the hurt and offer to let go of the past and make amendments?
It’s undeniable that most of us will ask how and wonder why we the victims must rather seek to make amendments. That is unheard of? No doubt about that, but it is rather for our own good. Ironing out our differences even when we are not to blame is a way of putting our trust on God’s Judgment. It is the secret to setting us free from the prison of anger. It is the best way to offload mental agony although it is humanly self-demeaning from the perspective of the society. God’s word is eternal and He is also the one that ALL THINGS SERVE. We can’t afford to overlook His Judgment on Anger and act in our own selfish way.
