NO EXCUSE FOR NOT KNOWING GOD

“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and the sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see the invisible qualities- his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God" (NIV) Romans 1:20

This passage to me is one of the simplest and easy to read verses in the bible yet with the greatest and cautionary message to us all. It doesn’t matter where you are from and when you heard God’s word. We simply don’t have an excuse for not knowing Him.

Sometime ago, I used to wonder how God was going to judge those in the villages and remote areas who do not have access to television as we have in the cities? I wondered how He will condemn those who can’t read or write. Worst of all are those who haven’t yet caught up with civilization?

But after reading this passage in the scriptures, I understood one thing. It was simple and clear: no man on earth has an excuse for not Knowing God. He made himself known through His creation and He expects that for nothing at all we see the wonders around us and acknowledge the power behind it.

It is in acknowledging that our hearts are opened to his Spirit and salvation is given. The late Jimmy Lovell used to say that “everyone has a right to hear the Gospel once before anyone hears it twice”. So whether by word of mouth, pictures, texts, tracts, songs, Nature, experiences, devotional guides, TV, radio, etc. whatever means it may have been, we have all heard about God.

We therefore have no excuse beloved if we still say we don’t know Him because if for nothing at all, I just told you about him. HE IS JEHOVAH GOD ALMIGHTY, THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE WHERE YOU AND I LIVE AND REJOICE. WE HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR NOT KNOWING HIM.
