“Pick me up and throw me into the sea, “he replied” and it will become calm." (NIV) Jonah 1: 12

God’s love for all mankind is very immense and incomprehensible. It is the kind of love that we don’t deserve. From time immemorial, mankind has challenged and rejected God’s love. We prefer to wallow in our sins than to live for this great love.

The story of Jonah isn’t different from our story today. As God’s creation, He yearns that we fellowship with him. He desires that we draw nearer to him as he is to us daily. Unfortunately many of us have our hearts drawn far away from him. We are heartily seeking the pleasures of this world.

Many of us have said in our hearts that we don’t need God. We believe we are far better off with him out of our lives. We are eager to let him out so we can mess up and meet the standards of the world.

Little do we know that our God is not a God that easily gives up on us. He has been fighting for our salvation and still does. He will fight for you and I until our dying breathe. Our constant rejection isn’t an excuse for him to give us to the wicked one.

In the same vain, he constantly urges all of us, especially those of us who have heeded to the call for Salvation to reach out to those who haven’t. He doesn’t want us to give up on them. God’s love in our hearts should be made know to all till our dying times and until the person needing saving gives up its’ breathe.

Remember, His word requires that we owe no man anything except LOVE. We have no excuse beloved if we fail at this. Jonah did reject God, but He reached out to God and received his saving Grace. We must also renew our minds and reach out for His salvation.
