“Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel."(NIV) Philippians 1:12
Bible Reading: Philippians 1: 12-21
Can we say likewise with Paul that ever since we were saved, our life has helped advance the gospel? Our salvation was at a high prize and as such we owe God our lives.
Paul recognized that he was saved out of grace and he gave his life preaching that message of salvation. What have we done for God? Are we telling the good news to others? Paul’s enthusiasm for Christ made him productive. This we bear witness to with the Holy Spirit of the many things he did for God. We cannot also deny the kind of suffering he went through for the sake of Jesus’ name.
His work caught up with everyone in his time, even to the other Apostles. Today we are all caught up with Paul’s fever of hard work for God. You know why? Well, the enthusiasm to work for God, especially His Son Jesus Christ is contagious. That is what makes us more productive than we can ever imagine. The question is “are others catching that fever from us? Is our work for God advancing the gospel of Christ?”
Whatever we hope to do in life, let us make sure we contribute our quota to advance God’s kingdom on earth. That is our responsibility as a Christian.
Working for God effectively is contagious; has anyone caught it from you?
