Forward Your Burdens to the Great I AM

"Moses said to God, suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, the God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they ask me, what is His name? Then what shall I tell them? God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

Exodus 3:13-14 (NIV)

When Moses asked God what name he should give the Israelites, God's answer was profound in its simplicity: "I AM WHO I AM." This is a name of complete sufficiency, God is not limited by circumstance, time, or condition. He simply is, in every season, in every trial, exactly what His people need Him to be. Revelation 1:8 echoes this same truth, describing Him as the Alpha and Omega, the One who is, who was, and who is to come. It is easy to recognize God's hand when life unfolds according to plan, but the real test of faith comes when circumstances turn unpleasant and unpredictable. Do we still trust that the great I AM is present and active, even when we cannot trace His hand?

A story is told of a man whose calm demeanor puzzled his entire village. While everyone around him grew anxious over their troubles, he remained peaceful, even smiling, despite living in circumstances worse than most. When confronted and asked how he managed such composure, his answer was simple: he had forwarded his problems to someone competent to handle them, and so felt no need to remain anxious about matters no longer in his hands. That is the invitation before every believer today. Forward your burdens to the God who declared Himself I AM, sufficient for whatever you are facing, and release the illusion that you must remain in control. Let your countenance, your behavior, and your heart reflect genuine trust that the same competent God who has always been faithful will deal with your trial at exactly the right time. Lord, increase our faith.

Closing Prayer

Lord, You are the great I AM, sufficient for every trial I face. Help me to forward my burdens to You fully, releasing the need to control what only You can handle. Increase my faith so that my peace reflects genuine trust in Your perfect timing. Amen.
