It can never work. Religion plays a key role in marriage. In courtship, we happen to live in ideal world, full of dreams. In marriage one faces the reality.

The bible cautioned us about not getting yolked with unbelievers and so it is in our best interest to marry one of our kind but in my few years on earth, I have seen Christians marry non-christians and with time have been able to convert them to Christ and their marriages are one of the best.

Religion plays a key role in marriages, I agree but what if everything about this person is all you have ever wanted in a person you want to share your life with and you know that as a good Christian, your deeds, with the help of God can make this person a Christian, personally, I will say, why not? Am sure you will say that why not convert him then marry him, we all know the pressure to sin when we court for too long....Life is not a straight forward route. Some will have it smooth and straight whiles others are zig-zag. In all, I think prayers for direction is the best option here and not a closed mind.

I will say, go for it but be mindful that you ought to be strong as a christian least you are converted yourself.
