The old testament is suppose to give us an insight into history of how we finally come to have Christianity. It teaches us how the world came to be and the awesomeness of God and how God once dealt with man. Though we do not follow it anymore, there are a lot of wisdom to be learnt from the books of the old testament.

I still read the old testament. It is a schoolmaster as in Galatians 3:24-25.

Yes, I do but I used to think that it was not so important because we are under the New Covenant today, that was difficult to read alone ... Some think it is for children only ...
You can understand some notions very well such as holiness which is very clear in Leviticus.
