Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. God in His infinite wisdom always creates avenues through which mankind can be blessed both spiritually and physically. The well-being of mankind on earth has been the desire of the Creator; however, we have consistently neglected God and His promises.

From the text above, there are “3 does nots” which when adhered to will bring God’s blessings on us. These three concepts … counsel . . . way . . . seat--With their corresponding verbs,… walk…stand…sit…mark gradations of evil, as acting on the principles, cultivating the society, and permanently conforming to the conduct of the wicked (BibleStudyTools.com).

The second verse spells out what we should do as Christians to merit the favours of God. Have you noticed the paths you walk, the places you stand and the seats you occupy? How long has it been since you read, studied or meditated on the word of God?

Let us consider these three ACTIONS, three PLACES, and three PERSONALITIES and continually have a quiet time with God as we journey through this New Year.

Our lives will be like a tree planted by streams of water; the Everlasting Spring will continue to refresh us and make us productive. When we abide in Christ and obey His word, we will be prosperous in everything even as our souls prospereth. Amen.
