"Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out."(NIV) Proverbs 17: 14
Do you know that anger is a gradual process? One doesn’t get angry instantaneously. Most often, anger is the result of arguments we engage in. Arguments are born out of difference in opinions during heated discussions. There are times when these differences die out quietly but there are times when the argument drags on. When this happens, one is troubled because he or she is not understood. We get infuriated and due to that we find it difficult to listen and understand the other person(s). If this continues, the argument aggravates to serious quarrel, then hatred is born and the list goes on and on.
God our father is a loving God and He desires that the life of a Christian be full of LOVE and SACRIFICE. He demands that we go the extra mile to maintain peaceful cohesion with fellow humans.
In light of this, His Word admonishes us to esteem each other better than ourselves. Proverbs 15: 28 says; the heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil. We therefore need to be on the alert everyday so that we will not provoke ANGER in others or ourselves.
Stay away from a foolish man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips (Proverbs 14:7). Drop anything that can provoke anger even if it is the very words we speak. God loves those who make the life of others memorable and worth living.
