The Greats in Christ
“Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant ” (NKJV) Matt. 20:26
If there is one thing all human aspires to get in life, greatness is one of them. We all hope to achieve great education, business, marriage, and happiness in life. The most important thing we should focus on is to know Christ and be a great disciple in his Kingdom.
Those who are great in Christ consider a life of sacrifice and self-denial. To be great in Christ is to empty ourselves of the physical carnal pleasures and make the master’s interests our priority. Dedicate whatever you have to the Lord and He will raise you to the level you never imagined.
Jesus became the greatest of all because He came down to serve both the Father and humanity. Taking on the life of servanthood and service is a key step in achieving greatness. Jesus emphasized that the greatest should always serve the rest (Matt. 20:26). Accept Jesus in your life if not a Christian, humble yourself, serve humanity and experience unimaginable greatness in Christ.
The apostles and other greats mentioned in the Bible focused on the salvation of Christ they have encountered. This mentality led them to live a life of substituting their interests with that of Christ. The sanctification through total submission to the principles of Christ Jesus leads to satisfaction and greatness. It is not how good you are that makes you clean but the blood of Christ that sanctifies.
Let us all submit totally to Jesus Christ, the greatest of all so we can be empowered to be great. God does not discriminate and all of us can be great if we will be committed to a life of sacrifice, self-denial, submission, servanthood, and service.
