Sustaining grace for difficult times
"But he said to me “my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” …. "(NIV) 2 Corinthians 12:9
More frequently, I am challenged by unpleasant circumstances to live for God. There are times when I want to give up on everything, I hold dear to in Christ, just so I could explode, making all those who make me suffer to get a feel of the pie. I wish they could see what my anger could give birth to, agony and hate.
But any time I feel annoyed, there is this still voice that whispers this message; “For you have not suffered to the point of shedding blood for the trials that you are going through”. And when this happens, I remember the Apostle Paul, who at many times was annoyed by the attitudes of the gentiles- Corinthians, Galatians etc. yet he spoke to them and responded with deeds and words of love and grace. With this, I begin to truly understand God’s grace. He told Paul, his grace is sufficient for him (2 Cor. 12:9). So, in my difficult moments, I seek the grace of God to sustain me.
I may not exactly have an idea of the challenges you are going through, but I know of a Grace that can sustain and keep us from sin. It is God’s Grace. The Apostle as well as I benefited from this Grace (Jesus) and so can you.
Reach out for the Grace that can sustain you in difficult times, so you can overcome them.
