“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for a disaster, to give you a future and a hope” (NLT) Jeremiah 29:11

Weaving is a painstaking event. The master weaver conceives the design in mind and mobilises the human resource and materials to translate the mental abstract into a physical, tangible breathtaking tapestry. The weaving process involves the use of all kinds of colourful strands, carefully selected by the master weaver, as he engineers the creation with meticulous precision. To create a magnificent masterpiece, nothing is left to chance.

God is the Grand Weaver of our lives. From our very biological makeup as we form in our mother’s womb, to the convoluted transitions of life, until the time we breathe our last, God uses every strand to constitute us into a breathtaking tapestry.

In his book The Grand Weaver, the renowned Christian author Dr. Ravi Zacharias draws our attention to the Grand Weaver at work in our lives: “How differently would we live if we believed that every event of our lives – from the happy to the tragic to the mundane – was a part of a meticulous and purposeful design in which all the elements intertwined with breathtaking precision?” We would rather attribute some happenstance in our lives to our efforts or some good fortune smiling down on us because we think God is not interested in those “trivialities.”

Beloved, God is interested in the minutest details of our lives, from the simple to the sublime. In most instances, He fashions them in our lives. Even when we think we brought them on ourselves, when we surrender them all to Him, warts and all, He can use them for our good.
