Commit your work to God

"Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans with be established" (NASB) Proverbs 16: 3

God is full of beautiful surprises that we often do not understand His ways. Most often than not, we experience negative shocks, disappointment and grief, when events do not turn out the way we planned. One such event happened during my first semester of graduate school. In a nutshell, I recorded the worse transcript ever in my academic life. The beauty of such low grades like C-, D and an F was not worth inspiring after the hardwork done during semester. Hehehe....this brought me grief, depression, lowered my self-esteem but also made me more humble and appreciative of my past academic records.

The reading Proverbs 3: 5-6 and 1 Thessalonians 5: 18 gave hope and served as a reminder to be thankful to God in all situations.

Proverbs 3: 5-6 reads:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

1 Thessalonians 5: 18 reads: give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Indeed, God is our shield and refuge (Proverbs 30: 5). Trusting and committing our work to God brings us joy beyond compare (Proverbs 16: 3; Proverbs 16:20). God has been good to me and will surely be good to you. Cheer up my brethren and make time to talk to God for He is alive.

Hymn: Take My Life, and Let It Be

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.

Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.

Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.

Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from Thee.

Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.

Take my intellect, and use every power as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.

Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne.

Take my love, my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.

Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for Thee.
