There is only one God living through it all
"For there is one body and one spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all."(NLT) Ephesians 4: 4-6
As I walk daily around my new vicinity, I see temples and structures, different religious buildings, different churches and all sorts of people and what they believe in. I was recently in a discussion with a lady whose religion worships cow and so they don’t eat beef. In all these settings, one question often comes to mind: Doesn’t all these people believe and claim to worship the same Almighty God? So why the diversity in worship?
Beloved, it is difficult for people to come down with the truth as is seen in Ephesians 4:4-6. It is in this vane that the bible encourages us in Ephesians 4:3 to “make every effort to keep yourselves united in spirit, binding yourselves together in peace”. The prince of the world (Satan) is trying to get as many followers as possible because he knows the end is near. Since time immemorial, he works his way through religion to turn the hearts of men from God.
Fortunately for all who diligently seek the true God and salvation for their souls, God has made provision for us to find Him and to know Him as well. In the above scripture reading, we learn that just as there is ONE BODY (Christ and His church- singular) and ONE SPIRIT (Holy Spirit), so is our HOPE ONE (eternal life). In order to get there, we ought to believe in the only ONE LORD (Christ) and put our FAITH-in-ONE who died for our sins (Christ). Also it is important for us to know that it is through the ONE BAPTISM (immersion and none other) can we be washed from our sins to access His free gift of ONE-SALVATION (eternal life) (Romans 9:16). For in all these events of history, He is the only ONE GOD that has seen it all. He has seen the rise and fall of gods that people put their trust in and prophets that people worship. And He still lives. Halleluiah, praises be to His name.
Today many people still continue to put their faith in other prophets, smaller gods and goddess among them including Mohammed, Lord Shiva, Oris, Mamewata and Joseph Smith Jr. of later day’s saint. They go to the extreme of acknowledging some as master of their lives but NONE has lived through history like our God and His ONLY SON (Jesus Christ). And as such God remains the only ONE FATHER of all human kind of whose breathe we all depend and live (why should I worship any other who also takes his life from God?). And although most of us have forsaken Him, He has not abandoned us. Christ is still knocking at our door daily for us to let Him in.
Today, He is knocking with this message “THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD LIVING THROUGH IT ALL”. Beloved, today may be your chance to accept Christ into your life. He will help you to sail through life safely anchored, not fearing any storm, because they will surely pass away and God, who is the same Lord and Spirit will live through it all. Amen.
