Heritage in Christ

Written by Daily Inspirer Team.

"Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.” (NIV) Ephesians 1: 11

In life we inherit properties from our parents, which we also pass on to our children and expect that they do same to their children. Heritage therefore in theory is anything that is passed on from generation to generation.

One can only inherit something that is within his/her family and nothing else. We can’t inherit any property that belongs to another family unless we have been given the right to through adoption. It is the same with God’s family.

When we were of the world, we were not part of God’s family. Today, by God’s designed plan, He has adopted us as His children in Christ and through Christ (Ephesians 1: 5; God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure).

Therefore as dearly beloved adopted children of God, we have been given direct access to God’s riches and glory. We received these riches and glory because we have accepted Christ, who is in charge of God’s entire riches and creation (Hebrews 3: 6, Colossians 1:15-20). We are therefore co-heirs with Christ, our elder brother and Lord of our Life – (Hebrew 2:11-15).

If you are not yet a Christian, why not consider this adoption so you can also gain inheritance in Christ Jesus? Contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for assistance in this direction. God bless you!
