Providence found me
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”(NIV) Jeremiah 29:11
When the Wise man considered issues under the sun, he could not help but exclaim, “vanity of vanities” (Ecclesiastes 1:2-3). Putting God in second place is no different from taking Him out of the equation of life. We are to put God first in all things (Proverbs 3:9). God has still got plans for us.
It is not unusual, but it is tough when life gets daunting and complicated: whether under the sun (that is, with little or no touch with God) or under the navigation of God’s will. But in all, God gives grace to the humble (James 4:6-7; 1Peter 5:5-6). Certainly, God’s sun and rain bless all people regardless (Matthew 5:45). (James Rowe)
Beyond God’s generosity to all, is also His providential care which surrounds His children daily; for it is divine care we are made to enjoy. By providence, God works through the natural laws He established in the universe and withholds nothing good from those that walk with Him and love Him (Psalm 34:10, 84:11). Important to state, that “good things” have mostly been viewed differently by God and man (Isaiah 55:8-9).
From the experience of Joseph, son of Jacob (Genesis 45-50), to the four lepers through whom Samaria had deliverance from a great famine (2Kings 7), God keeps providing for us in indescribable circumstances (Hebrews 13:5)
May weeping which may endure for a night, give way to the dawn of a new day, that providence may triumph over the “bad” and hard times of our lives (Psalm 30:5, 46:10). Our song shall then be, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). Dear Lord, do let your providence find us always. Amen!
