"First I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. God whom I serve with my whole heart in preaching the Gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times; and I pray that that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you." (NIV) Romans 1:8-10
Once I was watching a film in which a nation was under Aliens invasion. The adults were killed, and the children were harnessed and used as slaves. These kids worked for the Aliens as machines for their selfish constructive works. Those who survived the attack gathered themselves to fight these Aliens but many lost hope with the constant deaths and afflictions from the enemy.
One of these survivors, a young and learning doctor lady was different. She kept the faith. She was always rejoicing and thanking God for everything that came their way. People insulted her for her faith, even the captain tried to discourage her. But she wouldn’t give up. When she was asked the reason for her faith, this was what she said: “I don’t pray for God to give me things, I pray for him to show me what I could do for Him”.
I was moved to the core with her answer. Oh, how many times we pray for God to help us in every situation. How we persistently knock on His door so He will save us from our pain. The question stands: how many times have we prayed for others? Have we taken time to ask God what He desires from us in every situation? Do we ask Him who He wants us to help daily? Paul said God, “is my witness how constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times”.
Who is your witness in prayers? Can God witness for you too? What do you pray for? Let us renew our minds so that God will use us mightily for His Glory. This is the secret to solving our personal problems.
