Unexpected delivery
"It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread. After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover. So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him…" (NIV) Acts 12:1-5
Bible reading: Acts 12:1-18
Let’s go back to one of the instances in the Bible; in the book of Acts, the believers had to gather to pray for Peter when he was in jail. The situation was bothersome and they didn’t have any power to turn things around other than to pray.
They had been praying for long and were just waiting for God to answer. Peter was at the point of meeting his death in a short time. When Rhoda told them, Peter was at the door, they couldn’t comprehend. They were praying earnestly for Peter’s release but weren’t expecting it to happen that soon.
On the other hand, the doors of the jail had been opened by an angel for Peter to escape the night before his death. And when Peter showed up at the door of the believers, they couldn't believe it. Their prayer was answered sooner than expected.
There are circumstances in our lives that all facts point out that it's going to take a while for the problem to be solved. In our health, the doctors say it’s going to take a month or years, in our addictions, you have been told you can't do it on your own and all attempts seem unsustainable. In your childlessness, you've been told there's nothing wrong and it's just going to take a while, your finances- it seems there's no way you are going to have a breakthrough.
Just like Peter’s case, you are going to have your unexpected delivery on the way. You will be praying about it and the answer will be knocking on the door. We serve a supernatural God who has ways of turning things around. David as a Shepherd boy never thought that he will be king. But he was king unexpectedly.
I pray that you see an overnight turnaround and receive unexpected deliveries from God. Stop the negative talk! The more you pray the closer your answer is to you. God's grace abounds regardless of the insurmountable problems.
