Made for so much more! - Part 1
"The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."(NLT) 1 Samuel 16:7
For some reason, I have been wanting to reschedule my schedules to make room for what I love so much. And the struggle has been so real. Fortunately, this month’s theme “When God prunes” compliments the reality of this chapter in my life and how far God has brought me. I deem it an honor to provide beloved brethren an insight and I pray you are uplifted. I pray you see the vessel of honor God is molding you to be: The masterpiece of His creation!
The title of this message was inspired by the song “Beautiful” by MercyMe and a reflection of God’s pruning in my life. In John 15:2 (NLT), the Bible says, “He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit, so they will produce even more.”
I can recall the quiet times when I asked God to search me and know my heart and to take away anything that will prevent me from doing His will. I also asked God to break me for what breaks His heart. These prayers meant a lot to me and I looked forward to God doing so. I anticipated this transformation so much that I could imagine the kind of test God will give me and how I will surely pass. Little did I know that His ways are not our ways and He is a true God of pruning. Beloved, God simply broke me and emptied me. He wiped clean my slate and drenched me so high I was literally gasping for air. Although people perceived me to have it all, there I was standing before God empty- not having anything. In fact, He took it all away and I felt the pain. But it was not until I could appreciate my loss did I see that I was made for so much more than what I was holding on to.
Beloved, I would like you to reflect on your life for some few minutes. Are you holding on to things God wants you to let go? These things may be habits, secret sins or relationships. I will encourage you to pray earnestly and allow God to prune you, for you are made for so much more than you had imagined in life. Join me tomorrow for the next part of my message. God bless you!
