God's business is your business
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (NIV) Matthew 6:33
Christians today have long forgotten our purpose on earth. We wake up every day and all we think about is how to feed, cloth, shelter and meet other needs while neglecting the very reason why we are still alive in this world.
We are alive today to fulfill God’s purpose and not ours. This is why Jesus admonishes us in Matthew 6:33 to seek first the kingdom of heaven. All the stress of this life; going to school, work etc is all about our basic needs. I am not by any means saying we should stop schooling or working or engaging in other daily activities, I am saying we need to dedicate equal time and possessions if not more to the very purpose of our existence on this earth.
Our purpose on earth is to make God’s business flourish. God’s business on earth is to ensure all gets eternal life and so He laid the foundation of this business by sending His only son to die to redeem us (John 3:16-17). After allowing His son to die to redeem us, many are yet to hear about this great act of God, believe and get baptized so as to be a member of His kingdom. This is where God’s business becomes your business. It is my business too. In Matthew 28:19-20, Christ asks us to go into the world and teach all nations and baptizing them and then teaching them to obey all commandments of Him. We are tasked to finish the work of soul saving on earth.
Just as our earthly jobs rewards us when we attend to them with all the effort we can offer, God business too is rewarding. When we make God’s business our business by dedicating our efforts and anything that will flourish His business, he says he will cater for our needs and wants. We can testify that what God says he does.
Today, He is asking for your help to make His business on earth grow and surely He will not let you go unrewarded. What is your contribution to winning lost souls for Christ to keep His business on earth bigger and greater than all other businesses? God bless you.
