Don't lose sight of who you are
“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment." (NIV) 1 Timothy 6:17
The quality of life is usually high for the rich and affluent in society. The rich also refers to individuals with higher education, good job, influence/power, and opportunities. Such individuals often have the tendency to assume that such acquisition of growth, advancement, wealth and influence is by mere human might. But truth be told, all these are by the abundant Grace of God.
God wants to see the enjoyment of His children. He sometimes lavishly entrusts certain persons with so much wealth and opportunities. And the purpose? To humble us as mere stewards and “…to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share” (1 Timothy 5:18).
Dear reader, let us not forget the God who has generously blessed us. In like manner, let us have the needy at heart, wherever they may be, for they are entrusted in our care by our generous God.
