Oneness in the Home

Written by Christopher Opey Tetteh.

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." (NIV) Proverbs 4:23

As part of building a godly and peaceful home, oneness between husband and wife is a necessity. The direction of one's thoughts and life can determine the course of one's marriage; whether "bitter" or "sweet"

Permit me to share with you a story that took place in 1944. A train travelling through Salerno, Italy looked and performed perfectly well until after a few hours, the train carrying 600 passengers derailed and nearly 500 people lost their lives.

Analysts who surveyed the wreckage found that the leading locomotive was unbraked, however, its controls were set in reverse. The second locomotive was also unbraked, but its throttle was positioned "full ahead". The two locomotives had pulled against each other. No lives would have been lost if the engineers controlling each locomotive had agreed on which direction to go.

Moving in an agreed direction ensures success. Today, you are encouraged to decide with your spouse that you will both move your thoughts and lives in the direction of God and allow your minds to be renewed daily by His word.

For the unmarried, it is important to pray and commit to this principle before marriage.
