God’s Promise and Assurance in Childbirth

“In like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works. Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. Nevertheless, she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.” (NKJV) 1 Tim 2:9-15

God needs to be praised and thanked all our days for His provisions and sustenance for mankind. For us, we are just excited about His assurances specifically His assurance to Christian couples regarding children and childbirth. The book of Psalms 127:3-5 says clearly, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.”

We are a testimony when it comes to believing God for everything and this belief is strongly grounded. With God, all things are possible and He has assured us that He is the one that gives children, the one that creates and sustains genealogy; in other words, He is in charge of creations and sustaining generations upon generations! From this, we can confidently say there is none called “barren” in His sight or among his children! Never!

When Adam and Eve sinned in the book of Genesis, God said to Eve in Genesis 3:16 “To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”

Fortunately, God sent His son, Jesus Christ, our savior, to redeem us from this punishment! 1Tim 2:14-15 gives an account of the reversal of our punishment: “And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. Nevertheless, she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.”

This is good news for women! To women who are God-fearing, God says: “I will give you children” and further promises to save women's lives in childbirth. Anytime we are due for delivery as a couple, this is our assurance that we are coming back to our family safe with our bundles of Joy. Start believing woman and dry those tears! Work with your doctors and most importantly believe in God’s assurances and promises. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He did it for Hannah, Elizabeth and Mary and He can replicate this miracle a zillion times and beyond our imaginations! The fore-mentioned women feared God and lived very exceptional lives for God and the result was that God was pleased with them and blessed them with children. We leave every couple with this quotation; Luke 1, read, meditate on the message and you will be blessed!
