…As unto the Lord

Written by Joshua Akom.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” (ESV) Colossians 3:23

In our times, many categorize work as secular. And by that, it is designed to mean no relationship at all with spirituality. Sadly, many also make this categorical mistake of separating work from their spiritual life. But really as a Christian once the Lord calls us, everything about us now has a new direction including work. It is no wonder then that the Puritans early on referred to work as “vocation (i.e. calling)”.

Challenge: At work see yourself as an ambassador for Christ and carry every task heartily as unto the Lord not because it will earn you a promotion (which it will sometimes); but because your job is part of your calling.
