Encourage one another

Written by Alfred Ofori Agyemang.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."(NIV) Hebrews 10:24-25

Life is war and almost all physical activities done under the sun come with difficulties. Going to school, creating and managing businesses, marriage and parenting, working for others, Christian ministry duties etc. are not easy. If even the physical activities are difficult to pursue, imagine what it takes to be on an invisible spiritual journey with God.

We are always discouraged by the uncertainties of life, unfulfilled expectations, criticism for doing right, our sins and their consequences as well the sins and decisions of others. As children of God, we must get up when situations get us discouraged. We all need encouragement to face the many challenges of spiritual and physical lives. We need courage, confidence, hope and interdependence to fight on till we win the war of life.

We can encourage ourselves by our connection to God, the bible, other people and sometimes observation from nature. Meditation on God can keep encouraging you and scriptures like, let’s us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised-Heb. 10:23.

Let us be cautious of how we live as good stewards of God because others are looking up to us for encouragement. We should believe in others and even extend a hand of friendship to others by building them up and providing them opportunities to grow.

When others make mistakes, still let us give them second chance as we also expect the same. No matter what circumstances we may face today, lets us be able to encourage others around us so one day we may enjoy the same when we need it. Let us keep encouraging each other.
