You can never go wrong with kindness

“Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!” And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.” (NKJV) Gen. 15:3-4

“So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground, and said, “My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant.” (NKJV) Gen. 18:2-3.

Bible reading: Gen. 18.

Genesis 18 talks about the theme for this message. In Hebrews 11, God says through kindness, some entertained angels without knowing! Please find the time and read the whole chapter of Genesis 18. Kindness! kindness! kindness! You can never go wrong with being kind. Genesis 18 tells the story of how Abraham was kind to entertain and take care of some men who he thought were so tired and needed to rest. Little did he know he was entertaining angels who brought an important message to him and his family! Sarah was promised a son, although she had passed child-bearing age. The son, Isaac, was promised through these angels from God. These angels also saved Lot from destruction in Gomorrah.

Are you kind with your resources? Are you grateful and content and bless God for His goodness every day? Are you kind with your words? Does your smile make people feel welcome?

The New Testament says true Christianity is to look after orphans and the poor, widows and prisoners, to weep with those who weep and be happy with those who are happy (James 1:27, Romans 12:15).

Let us be kind for we do not know who comes our way every day. Indeed, through kindness, some have entertained angels.

May God give us the strength to keep His word!
