The Ultimate Sacrifice
And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” (NIV) Rev 5:2-5
No one is worthy! Again, no one is worthy! Christ paid the ultimate price (sacrifice) by dying on the cross to make us worthy! He is practically responsible for making us whole and enabling us to meet our maker someday. That is why following His footsteps is the most important walk we could ever take whilst we are alive on this earth.
The first and the last, the Amen, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David makes us worthy! So why live to please the world when we can do the most honourable thing by living to please the one who makes us worthy?
The day of atonement knocks and how frightful it will be to spend the rest of eternity with the one person who always wanted our downfall?
What about how joyful it will be to spend eternity in the maker’s presence? For me, it’s a joy I cannot contain! I have made my decision and trust me, Christ is walking with us each day to make it easy. What is your decision too?
