Declare your stand

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth” (NKJV) Rev.3:16

It can be observed from nature that most things come in two forms: light and darkness, good and bad, males and females, etc. Among these, some have clearly defined boundaries and others do not. In the spiritual realm, we have two sides: the Kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of Darkness. The two kingdoms are so distinct that there is no overlap or intersection between them. These two sides are ruled by different deities with a different set of instructions. Jesus Christ rules the Kingdom of Light and its entrance is narrow (Matt.7:13) such that not many are attracted to choose that path. The Kingdom of Darkness is under the rule of Satan (the deceiver) with a very wide entrance. Humanity must choose between these two kingdoms every day and accept the consequences of their choice.

Unfortunately, some people are deceived to think that they can stay at the borderline of these two kingdoms. There is no middle ground. Our daily choices between honesty and dishonesty, stealing and honest labour, lying and telling the truth, sexual faithfulness or infidelity and others that place us into either light or darkness. We cannot serve two masters says our Lord Jesus (Matthew 6:24).

Sometimes the choices are difficult to make because the demarcation line has been clouded by the world. While God gives an absolute position on issues of truth, modesty and honesty, the world sees them as relative. Christians have been delivered from the power of darkness and conveyed into the kingdom of the Son of His love (Colossians 1:13) and are expected to stay in the Light. To remain in the Light, we must know the word of God so that we might not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11). Some people are living their lives around the kingdom of God and not in the kingdom.

God says, “I have placed before you right and wrong” (Deut. 30:15). He urges us to make the right decisions - to take a stand to be on His side to inherit eternal salvation.
