The weeping God

"Jesus wept." (NIV) John 11:35

When we usually go through pain, it is easy to wonder why we are allowed to suffer despite having a loving God. As I pondered over this, I remembered that the God-man Jesus Christ Himself wept at a point and eventually went through anguish on the cross.

Then I realized that such calamities usually are not originated from God but when we are found caught up in them, He draws out a plan to deliver us. In that meantime, as we anxiously await His deliverance, this loving God weeps with us and comforts us. No wonder many Christians are still strong after having gone through series of unbelievable suffering. When they are asked, they often allude to having strength from this same God.

It is so cute to know that this fearful "punisher" is also a weeping God. When we cry, He cries with us and when He finally brings victory, He also rejoices with us. A true Friend is our God. Glory be to His name.
