Faithfulness with confidence

Written by Alfred Ofori Agyemang.

"Now it came to pass in Iconium that they went together into the synagogue of the Jews. And so they spoke so that a great multitude, both of the Jews and of the Greeks, believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and embittered their minds against the brethren. Therefore, they stayed there a long time speaking boldly in the Lord, who gave testimony to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands." (NIV) Acts 14:1-3

It is interesting and amazing to find in the media all sorts of information and advertisement. Everybody and every institution are vigorously promoting their products and ideologies to attract more clients to themselves and to keep existing customers. Where lies the kingdom of Christ and the undiluted word of God? Christians cannot stand out boldly because of the unfaithfulness of believers to the Lord, fear and because we do not appreciate and believe in the kingdom as the only vehicle for saving mankind.

Apostle Paul was so confident with the Gospel because he had learned and was abiding by the principles of Christ. Paul knew the value of what he had believed in and was prepared for any eventuality. What about us today? We are failing to stand up for the gospel because of our attitudes and the guilt satan keeps reminding us of. Confidence goes hand in hand with Commitment and Competence. Christians will be confident if we believe and practice the contents of scriptures. Once you know what you want, are committed to achieving it, and become competent in it, then confidence will follow naturally.

Dare to do something every day and believe by the help of the Holy Spirit, it will be possible. Christianity is a great heritage that has been kept from the Apostles till now. There are so many blessings and hope in following the principles of Christ. Don’t be afraid to practice the principles, they are real-life issues but not hypothetical theories. By doing this, we will be competent in the faith and have the confidence to share in verbal or non-verbal means.

Practice and proclaim the principles of Christ because it is the best and what the world needs. You can make Christianity attractive. Amen.
