What fills your thoughts?

Written by Daily Inspirer Team.

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there are any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."(KJV) Philippians 4:8

We are what we think about. If good thoughts fill our thoughts, we turn to manifest those thoughts in our lives and vice versa. The world is moving so fast and things are not getting any easier economically. Many have resolved to any means (good or bad) to make life a bit easier. Our thoughts are filled with how to make a bit more money to meet out expenses that we fail to realise that our entire mindset is shifted from Godly things and totally focused on worldly things.

In our busy and stressful lives, what fills our thoughts? Is it the thought to build a great career, make much money and retire early so you can enjoy, buy your first car, build your dream house, marry the woman of your dreams, buy all the nice and fashionable cloths, travel around the world, afford all the luxuries of this world or it is the thought of being a faithful and dedicated Christian till the end?

I am not by any means saying we should not work hard and enjoy the fruits of our labour but when all efforts are channeled into obtaining worldly treasures, there is course for concern. How many of us make it a point to factor the wellbeing of widows and orphans, preachers of the gospel of Christ and other Christians daily, monthly, quarterly or yearly in our thoughts? How many spend our resources including our time in making sure the gospel gets to everyone? How many of us daily ensure that our lives preach Christ? How many of us are not shy to let our friends know that we are Christians?

As we think and focus on honest, just, pure and lovely things as well as things of good report, we express them in our lives. Let us fill our minds with these virtues and live them. God bless you.
