Trusting in God
“O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you.” (NIV) Psalms 84:12
It really is an amazing joy to know God and trust in Him. I know God is in control of everything but I often struggle with living this out in my day to day life. When things get crazy, life can do a good job of crowding God out if we let it. If you’re not yet a Christian, consider the amazing freedom that can come through a relationship with God. If you are a believer, remember the commitment you have made to put God first in your life. If we truly trust that He loves us and is looking out for what’s best for us, there is no need to worry. What an amazing gift! This passage reminds me of another section from the New Testament.
Acts 17:24-28: “He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man-made temples, and human hands can’t serve his needs—for he has no needs. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need. From one man he created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and he determined their boundaries. “ His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us. For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’”
All we have to do is trust, and who better to trust than the God of the universe, the one who created our very souls!
