God-led: The art of hearing

Written by Douglas Agyapong.

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” (NIV) Joshua 1:8

Did you miss: God-led: The gate of the year?

This year, we want to be led by God. To help achieve this, we need to train ourselves to know the will of God concerning our lives in every instance; we need to hear when God speaks. I choose to share with you with some tools that will aid you know the will of God beginning from this article.

To decipher the will of God, you have to know the word of God. The Bible says “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (II Tim. 3:16-17)

When you have “soaked up” His words, it puts you in a better position to decipher His will in all situations. When the Lord Christ was tempted as recorded in Matthew 4, He overcame because He knew the Scriptures which He quoted in victory over the tempter. Dear reader, let us train ourselves to detect God's voice when He speaks. We can do that by soaking up the Scriptures.

I borrow again, to share with you, the words of a Ghanaian song: “I don't know where I am going or what I am going to do. I don’t even know the way I am going to go. All I know is my hand is in my daddy's hand and so long as I don't stray, he'll take me there.” Simply God-led.
