True freedom 2

Written by Alfred Ofori Agyemang.

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” (NIV) John 17:17

The truth that gives freedom frees man from Fear and Pessimism. Because of lies and deception which are massively propagated in this generation, a lot of people are more afraid of science than God. Humanity is kept in bondage to modernity and sin to be specific. The truth teaches mankind that we are not created to be timid and afraid. Christians can do all things through Christ.

Hopelessness is another event that the truth takes from believers. With God, all things are possible according to the source of truth (scripture). Physical and most importantly eternal hopes have been secured for all who believe and are willing to abide by the truth. Christians are no longer the servant of sin because of the atonement of Christ. We are free from sin if we keep obeying the Lord and living by His word. Evil habits and communications will not be part of our lives when we abide in the truth.

The TRUTH about TRUTH is that truth is absolute, narrow, and exclusive. Matt. 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

Truth is discovered, not invented. It exists independent of anyone’s knowledge of it. Whether you know it or not, truth exists. Gravity existed prior to Isaac Newton’s discovery of it. The truth of God has always been truth and man did not invent this truth. Beliefs cannot change a fact, no matter how sincerely they are held. Thus, no matter how you believe a lie it is still a lie.

Truth is true everywhere. Truth is trans-cultural and borders of a country do not alter the truth. Culture does not determine the truth. Because you are raised in a particular culture doesn’t make the beliefs of that culture true. Our culture does not determine if something is true or not. Sincerity does not determine the truth. I may be sincere but sincerely wrong! Matt. 22:29 Jesus speaking to Sadducees about resurrection “Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.”

Difficulty finding truth does not negate truth or prove it does not exist: Just because I may have difficulty finding the truth doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist at all. Just because people may disagree about whether a particular action is right or wrong, it doesn’t mean necessarily that there are no right or wrongs actions anywhere in the universe? Freedom is valuable in every realm. But only truth can make us free.

God is calling on you: Let us Love the truth. Let us Seek the Truth. Let us Apply the Truth to our own lives. Let us Teach the truth to the world.
