“No-one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” (ESV) Matthew 6:24

Matthew 6:24 considers money as a master and God also as a master. These two masters are very influential. Money is a master in and of this world, but God is a master in but not of this world. One requires a great amount of energy in serving either master well to be rewarded, so one needs to make a choice. These two masters have different and contrasting criteria for service. For instance, to serve God, one is required to give out even in one’s poverty but to serve money, one is required to save especially in poverty.

Whichever choice one decides to make, its corresponding consequences or reward follows. If one chooses to serve God rather than money, eternal life is assured however the world’s luxuries may not be assured. The choice to serve money rather than God comes with the world’s luxuries but no eternal life. The choice is yours!

My prayer is that you make the wise choice; choose God! God bless you!
