DON’T BE THROWN OUT AND TRAMPLED UPON!

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.” (NIV) Matthew 5:13

It is thought provoking when we consider how often we pray to God to make us indispensable in our work places or smart in schools but the moment we get these blessings we become sluggish in doing His will. No matter how hard we try to make amends to this situation, we unconsciously find excuses to postpone what we have to do for the Lord. I have fallen as prey to this inexcusable situation several times and I guess the same applies to you. However, I felt an intensified guilt of disobeying the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) when I chanced on a document in my bag on an article I wrote with Ebenezer Essel: If we make the Most High our dwelling. I saw 1,270 people liked this article. Instantly, I felt ashamed of myself. I sorrowfully said to myself, if this figure is true, then I have lost my saltiness. I have allowed my work to make me dormant in doing the work of God and in no time I might be thrown out and trampled upon.

Beloved in Christ, we are indeed the salt of the world. Each one of us gives meaning to this world. We have an impact to make in this generation. No matter how far we might have fallen, God is reminding us like He did to me that we should rise up again.

Let us pick up the mantle from the apostles and make it count here on earth. Let us defend and share God’s word to as many as we can through the gift he has placed in each one of us; be it teaching, evangelizing, preaching, singing, cleaning God’s house, writing, editing, etc.

Let’s us count in this generation and let God’s name be lifted high for his wonderful love for us. Let His name be glorified because He believed in us and gave us a GIFT (salt). Let us magnify His name on earth for making us the SALT of this world with all our might, deeds, speech and thoughts. Let us not allow the world to trample on us for we are indeed the SALT THAT SEASONS THEIR LIFE. Amen
