A simple act of care

Written by Derrick Owusu Antwi.

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith” (NKJV) Galatians 6:9-10.

‘Life isn’t about getting and having, it is about giving and being’ (Kevin Kruse). This quote combined with the scripture text reminds and inspires us to do good always.

Doing good is sowing good seeds of the Spirit. We might not always receive an immediate harvest from our good works. Some may reap their reward in heaven, but this should not make us give up. We should continue to do good, especially to our fellow brethren.

A story is told of a young lady who gave a glass of water to a hungry poor boy who used to hawk and make sales in her neighborhood. Years on, the boy grew up to become a medical practitioner. He treated this same lady at the hospital and ended up footing the entire bill because he remembered her simple act.

Beloved, we must continue to be kind and do good to people irrespective of their race or status and let's do that with a good heart and clear conscience. Amen.
