Making the pieces fit

“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” (NIV) 1 Timothy 4:8

If you have received Jesus as your Lord and personal saviour through baptism, I want to say that was an awesome decision. If you have not received Jesus but would like to, just write to us; Daily Inspirer Team, and we will help you out. You see, life’s journey with Jesus is an interesting and personal journey that is never ending.

Christians can attest to the fact that personal relationship with God is a wonderful one by all standards. The Christian journey (life) is more like a marathon than a sprint. Our condition or excitement at the beginning of the walk with Christ would not be exactly the same when we get to the daily “routine”. We should expect to be hit by difficult times and challenges.

Therefore in difficult times, we will need to stand firm. How do we do this? As I said earlier, beloved, since our life is supposed to be that of a marathon, it requires much time in training. Training definitely pays off in a better race. This training occurs at different stages of our lives and we need to submit ourselves to the master trainer, Jesus. We must look up to Him as the Author and Finisher of our faith: He is the finish line.

The challenges we face are the training periods of our lives as Christians on earth and God expects that we win. The pieces of this training include encounters with the Holy Spirit, constant prayer, strong faith, sincere fellowship with brethren, the study of God’s Word and a fervent witnessing for the Lord. These pieces are interrelated and work together to strengthen your walk with Christ. These pieces will need a frame to fit in; in our case our Frame is our FAITH in Christ.

In these perilous times, our faith in God is a basis to make the pieces fit, in order to overcome the evil days.

HYMN: Take my hand precious.

Precious Lord, take my hand

Lead me on, let me stand

I'm tired, I'm weak, I'm lone

Through the storm, through the night

Lead me on to the light

Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
