Pray In Season And Out Of Season
… then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you.(NIV) Jeremiah 29:12
The Israelites were being reminded that after the plans God has for them has finally been fulfilled, they should remember to still call on God and He will still offer them His guidance. What sent the Israelites into exile in the first place was the fact that they forgot their God. When they are comfortable, they tend to forget that it is the God of their fathers that has made it possible for them to enjoy this condition.
The Lord expects that after our problems are over, we should still keep in touch through prayers. Normally, we are closer to our maker when the problems come but as soon as it is all over, we distant ourselves from Him.
The Lord expects us to be closer to Him both in our good and bad times, in our happy and sad moments as well as in our excited and distressed times. He wants us to keep Him at arm’s length all the time. We need to stay in touch with our God always through prayer.
