"Wine is a mocker, strong drink is a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise" (NIV) Proverbs 20:1

There are many people who have been fooled by the drink. According to advertisers, drinking will give you good friends, pretty girls at your side, and great popularity. What they don’t tell you is the pain drinking causes. Families are destroyed. Lives are ruined.

The Bible tells us to stop being influenced by alcoholic beverages. Peter said that we spent enough of our past lives as unbelievers doing such things. If we are Christians we are to act differently.

Paul said, “Do not be drunk with wine…but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). He says for us to be under the influence of the Spirit of God by study and meditation of the Bible. Let us resolve to avoid the drink and its influences and be influenced by proper things.
