Testimony time

Written by Alfred Ofori Agyemang.

“When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul cried with a loud voice, "Do not harm yourself, for we are all here." And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?". (ESV) Acts 16:27‭-‬30

Everything in life is judged by the way it appears or how it behaves. People choose courses of study based on how the program appeals to them. We choose professional careers based on its attractiveness with the practitioners. We buy goods from the store because of its packaging and attractiveness to customers.

Why is Christianity not looking attractive to many people?

The early Christians demonstrated qualities that was so attractive and appealing to the society. Though the Christians were persecuted by the political and religious powers, the believers kept increasing in number and in quality of worship. The prison officer who kept Paul and Silas saw something wonderful Jehovah has done and was humble to listen to his prisoners.

Christians today must demonstrate boldness in faith and declare the goodness of God. God is still doing wonderful and powerful things in our lives but we are failing to let the world know and ask the question, what must I do to be saved? But the unfortunate observation is that, we hear and see more Christians complaining rather than complimenting and showcasing the great work of our maker.

Christians must rise up and make known testimonies of the goodness and greatness of Almighty Jehovah to the world. Be an instrument of change by demonstrating to the world what the good Lord have done in your life. You can make Christianity attractive by demonstrating and sharing testimonies. Amen.
