Knowing and Obeying the Master
"What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord…" (NIV) Phil. 3:8.
As we learn about being Ambassadors for Christ, let us take the opportunity to know more about Christ, who is the Master we are representing. Fortunately, our Master created the opportunity for us to know Him by coming to live among us and having his life documented in the Bible. This means that an important step to knowing Christ is to study the Bible regularly. How often do you study the Bible?
Knowing Christ comes with developing an intimate relationship with Him. To do that, we need to develop a strong love for Christ and that will urge us to obey Him always (John 14:23).
As Christians who know Christ, we also have the responsibility to preach the Gospel of Christ so that others may come to know Jesus and obey Him (Mark 16:15). We must pray for others to know Jesus (Eph. 1:16-21). We must live like Christ so that others can see Christ through us (Gal. 2:20). We must be Ambassadors of Christ everywhere we find ourselves (2 Cor. 5:20). How well are you performing your job as an Ambassador for Christ?
