Appreciation

Written by Alfred Ofori Agyemang.

“Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (NIV) Eph. 5:20

Ingratitude to God is a deadly sin and the consequence for this should not be taken lightly. Satan formerly Lucifer lost his portion in heaven because of the ingratitude of where God placed him. The first couple, Adam and Eve lost their position because they wanted more than was assigned to them.

Lack of appreciation to God is the beginning of rejecting God. We should never run out thanking God. We should appreciate God for who He is and what He has done for humanity including what we have received. God is God whether we appreciate Him or not.

For us to truly appreciate, we should remember God as the source of all blessings. Whatever we see and possesses came from a divine provider. Remember where you were, where you have reached and the future ahead and thank God. “Then you say in your heart, 'My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth. And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”(Deut. 8:17-18).

If Remembrance is a realization of where all blessings come from, then the expression is the confession of this fact. Let us admit that we don't deserve all that we have and express it verbally. Tells others about the blessings of God. The best way to appreciate God is our total worship and this must reflect in our lives. If we are truly thankful, our lives will reflect it!

Throughout history, great men have been known for thanking God and others. It is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of meekness. Don’t underrate any product or service rendered to you. Always count your blessings, not your worries. Always thank God for His Son, Church, your life, family, friends, position and possessions you have. Amen

Hymn: Count Your Blessings

When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
