"He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." (NIV) Psalm 91:4

I had finished school and sent out a lot of applications for graduate studies. Most of the applications were successful but without funding or scholarship. I was devastated to say the least. I knew God, but my faith was shaken. I had heard a lot about colleagues who could not continue their education because of financial reasons. I was broken because I felt it was my turn to experience these disappointments. I felt that God has turned His eyes away from me or might be punishing me for a misdeed. I started praying, reading His word and being more zealous in His work. I placed all my faith in God. What encouraged me most were these words from the Bible; “even if your faith is as small as mustard seed, it can move mountains”. (Matthew 17:20). Beloved, God granted my heart desire from an opportunity I least expected. He replaced the grief with joy and He is still busy working on other requests I have put before Him.

If we make THE MOST HIGH our dwelling, He will never let us down. We have to put our trust in Him no matter the situation we find ourselves in. A little more prayer, a little more reading and sharing of His GOOD NEWS and a little more work at His church are perhaps what is required of us while we are waiting. We can also engage in a lot of activities that will show love to God and people around us. The good part of this is that it distracts our mind from the long wait and gives us inner joy of knowing that by our kind deeds someone is smiling.

Psalm 37:4 says “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” He is not finished with you yet so do not be dismayed. It seems it’s taking forever, and you have not yet seen a sign of Him working in your favour. Yeah, it feels the same even if you have experienced His faithfulness before, but do not give up your faith but continue to make the MOST HIGH your dwelling.
