Remember the God of the beginning

Written by Alhassan Mohammed Sandargo.

“In the beginning God…” (NIV) Genesis 1:1

Many people have wondered about the source of their strengths and favors. Today I am only attempting to stroll on this sensitive path for the consideration of us all.

It is so amazing to consider the countless blessings and interventions that have come our way. Frankly, it appears virtually impossible to start counting and quantifying the great dealings towards us by God.

Before we were born, God had specifically planned great things ahead of us. As it is written, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5) And like Jeremiah, each of us is no by-product, we are peculiarly framed.

Every one of us has been blessed with some uniqueness, whilst at the same time there may be gray areas of battles and struggles (1Samuel 2:6-8, Psalm 139: 1-18). In either way we are likely to miss the source of all things altogether - God. The one swimming in favor may become so proud while the one facing some agony in life may think of abandonment. But if only we can pause to consider, then we will realize, that whatever our situation, it is for a purpose and for our good. We only have to know the beginner of all things, the One without whom nothing can be done (John 15:5).

The opening of the Holy Bible has these first four words with only one person therein, the person of God. May we always pause to consider the countless benefits we have always enjoyed and may we also see God in times of troubles as we hope for His mighty deliverance. Let us remember that without the Lord we can do nothing (John 15:5) and yet with Him we can do all things (Philippians 4:13). Do you know the true God who has brought you this far? May He be our thought and search all day long. Praise the Lord!
