Love lifted me

Written by Alhassan Mohammed Sandargo.

“So, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (NIV) Isaiah 41:10

Some life situations not only seek to distract and discourage, but rather attempt to destroy us. However, it is a blessing to know that we are never alone, God cares for us. The hymnist, James Rowe, used his life-changing moments to Christianity to describe how helpless and sinking life can be without Christ.

He writes, “I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more; but the Master of the sea heard my despairing cry, from the waters lifted me, now safe am I.” (James Rowe)

Yes, God speaks to us concerning His ever-timely help in lifting us out of sinking situations. His very hands formed us, and we are His priority (Romans 8:32).

The hymnist further writes: “Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me”

Beloved, the Master of the sea in the past is still the Master of the sea today. He hears our despairing cry (Psalm 51:17) and His loving hands are always ready to lift us. Amen.
