Why follow God and not man?
The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace. (NIV) Psalm 29:11
God from creation has demonstrated His eternal love and care for mankind. God took his time to create the best of everything from the first day of creation to the sixth day. Mankind was created when all other factors and resources required for a comfortable life were in place. It is unfortunate that, in all God’s attempts to draw man's attention to himself, humanity is almost always attracted to the devil, physical material, and other human beings.
Critically analyzing the attributes of God for who He is and what He has done should encourage all humans to follow God but not man. First of all, the manufacturer of any object knows how to best to preserve and use it. Nobody can have a better purpose for your life than what God designed for you. Any other use of an object other than following manufacturer’s instructions leads to dangerous consequences. So is the human life. We were created by God for himself.
There are so many forces that work against human beings. They are calculated activities crafted by the devil to distract mankind from following God. Satan cannot stop you from following God but can create a difficult and uncomfortable life for you to give up yourself. Remember, the moment you get fed up, you will fade out.
You need to follow God but not a man because God provides strength to His people. The LORD will give strength to His people. The LORD will bless His people with peace (Psalm 29:11). God will deliver them that follow Him (Psalm 37:39).
If the Lord is your shepherd, you shall not want. God is the greatest shepherd and leader who always provides the best for his subjects. Spiritual and physical successes throughout life can only be guaranteed by God. Whatever followers of God do, prosper.
The Lord takes a Personal Interest in the lives of people who follow Him. God does not appoint to disappoint. Though all men are created by God, not all are the children of God. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, even to those who believe in His name (John 1:12). Eternal life is assured for those whose diligently follow God.
What can man do for you?
Unfortunately, many people have chosen to follow fellow humans (creation) instead of God the creator. It can be seen from the media that, people (men of God) are now claiming to be equal with God and are drawing the masses to themselves. You can be assured of the following results if you decide to only follow man rather than God: Man can easily mislead you. Mankind will flatter to deceive, disappoint, wrongly advice you and ultimately laugh at you because man has nothing to offer you.
