"A faithful man shall abound with blessings, but he who makes haste to be rich (at any cost) shall not go unpunished." (AMP) Proverb 28:20

From time immemorial, people have tried all forms of businesses with the major aim of having a good financial standing in society. In today’s world, the case isn’t different, only that it has risen.

The Bible makes us understand that in the last days, people will become lovers of money (2 Timothy 3:2). And as we see around, many of us are desperate to be rich. I don’t mean being rich is Evil because it is God’s plan that we prosper both in our finances and in our health.

Our God owns the whole world and every good thing comes from him as well. He wouldn’t have anything than to see us rich in everything (good deeds)(Jeremiah 29:11). However, what makes riches wrong for a Christian is when the LOVE FOR IT IS GREATER THAN THE LOVE FOR GOD (Mark 12:30).

The Bible says “the love of money is the root of all evil” (1 Timothy 6:10). It is, therefore, the love of money that will make someone want to use foul means to be rich. They will even go to the extreme of destroying the life and happiness of others. Many resorts to all dubious means just to be rich.

Beloved brethren, what will a man profit if he gains the whole earth and losses his soul (Mark 8:36)? Today God’s word to us as Christians living in a world where every wrong seems right is that a faithful man shall abound with blessings but he who is haste to be rich will not go unpunished (Proverb 28:20).

What kind of Christians do we want to be even when we are tempted to do wrong?
